When Olivia is 20 months old

Week of 15 Oct 2010

Olivia is turning 20 months this week. What does a typical 20-month-old like to do?

She starts to say up to A,B, C, D, E,F.

She recognises ORANGE as a colour.

She counts with hint, she fills in the blanks in between the numbers.

She tries to dress herself, she could put both legs into the pants but will ask mommy to pull the pants up.

She chooses her TV program - 'mouse' (mickey mouse), 'ABC', 'spider', 'bear' (gummy bear), and she chooses certain gummy bear songs only, like nuki nuki, choka choka choka. She is bored of the typical old one.

She starts to form sentences with 2 nouns, like 'duck, water' (means she wants to bring the duck for her bath). 'apple, no more'.

She pours water on her high chair and licks them off like a dog. She drinks from a cup and wet herself. She knows that if she pour away her food, she doesn't have to finish it but she will get some scolding from mommy. She says 'sorry' sometimes, but hasn't mastered when to use the word properly.

She has adopted 'no' as her favourite word! 'e-yao' means 'no'!
